Revolution is Brewing: Harrisburg Tea Party

Were you impressed by Rick Santelli’s rant last week at CME Group in Chicago. Well, he’s stirred some things up with his mention of coordinating a Chicago Tea Party in July. This has generated similar enthusiam in many cities across the country, including Harrisburg.

  1.
    1. Are You troubled with the recent actions of our elected officials?
      1. Are you frustrated by austentatious & gratuitous government pork barrel and socialistic spending masquerading as economic stimulus and jobs legislation?
      2. Are you tired of the never ending litany of government bailouts of private companies who have placed themselves in position of imminent failure due to poor business practices (ie. wasting your hard earned tax dollars on companies who are destined to fail anyway)?
      3. Are you sick of your tax money being controlled and used at discretion by the very same political characters whose complicit behavior, poor decision making ability and/or lack of action led to the failure of the mortgage market which led to the ultimate collapse of the entire real estate structure and all lending markets?
      4. Do you think it is ridiculous that illegal immigrants are being granted opportunities, rights and government funding that is out of reach for U.S. citizens?
      5. Do you believe it is ludicrous that President Obama believes he can convince the job creators in this country to hire us out of the recession then come back in two years and increase their taxes to the 60%+ range including eliminating the interest reduction on their mortgage and increasing capital gains taxes to around 40%?
      6. Is your intelligence offended by the Obama Administration and liberal members of Congress looking down upon you saying that they know what you need better than you know what you need and that we’ll be able to spend our way out of a poor economy despite the fact that it’s never successfully been accomplished before in the history of the world?
      7. Are you exasperated when hearing Obama Administration officials saying that America voted for change therefore they have a mandate to do so in whatever manner they see fit, despite the pesky fact that the popular vote was extremely close at 54% to 46%, far from a referendum?

Then do something about it and here’s a place to start
Be at Harrisburg at noon on Saturday to find out how you can join the grass roots conservative and capitalist revolution to take our country back. Make the statement that you will not permit our great nation to be destroyed by socialist economic policies that have recently left many European countries in shambles, who are now grasping for capitalism to save themselves. OK, here’s the scoop…

Obama-Geithner Connection

America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy, Timothy Geithner / No Comments

It appears the Obama and Geithner families know one another. Maybe this is why Timothy Geithner has become that “must have” economic expert that President Obama required as Treasury Secretary because no one else was qualified to save us.

Rick Santelli: Government is Promoting Bad Behavior

Posted by Greg Garrett on February 21, 2009
America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Capitalism, Economy / No Comments

See the video, below, and the poll in which you can participate.

Heroes rise out of the ashes of despair and Rick Santelli has become one of mine following his capitalist rant during an MSNBC live interview at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group on Thursday in response to the recently passed and signed into law, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, more commonly known as the Economic Stimulus Bill. In this video he’s speaking the language of every thinking American who maintains a capitalist/ entrepreneurial desire to succeed on their own terms without government intervention. Rick emplores President Obama to empower the private sector to utilize its financial resources and keen insights to purchase and revitalize the currently financially toxic mortgage assets toward stabilizing the economy without utilizing taxpayer dollars. Like he says, the government can’t spend its way out of a recession, however, it can surely buy its way into socialism, which appears to be exactly what the President wants.

If you’re a fan of the underdog, which at this bleak time in our great nation’s financial history, every capitalist, supply-side touting American is, I know you’re going to really enjoy this one…

Take Less Than 30 Seconds to Voice Your Opinion on the Stimulus Bill Referendum Poll
I’ve taken Rick’s advice, since President Obama hasn’t yet done it, and have created a referendum poll on the President’s stimulus package. Make your voice known by going to the poll.

It’s Official: The United States is Bankrupt

Posted by Greg Garrett on February 15, 2009
America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy / No Comments

The $65.5 trillion financial obligations of the United States, including medicare and social security, now eclipse the gross domestic product (GDP) of the entire world, and that’s before the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) or the so-called economic stimulus package monies are considered. The government, in their current reporting, makes no consideration for medicare and social security benefit net present value changes in the year that they accrue, only when they are distributed, therefore the government is substantially underestimating our true debt. According to experts, our tax dollars earmarked for these programs and our future use are no longer being placed in a theoretical “lockbox” for future distribution to us. In other words, these tax monies that are being withheld weekly from our paychecks are being diverted to fund current and future “real-time” social welfare programs without consideration for the impact upon the future obligations. If a U.S. company did this, their officers would be in federal prison. In the U.S. government, apparently, it’s the status quo.

What makes a bad situation worse is the current U.S. economic instability. Foreign entities like China, Japan and other major holders of U.S. dollar foreign exchange reserves have funded our government spending obligations for a long time, however, now the experts say this will not continue. This will force the Federal Reserve to “monetize the debt” or, in other words, simply print cash to fund these obligations. This will lead to further inflation and, in their words, “threatens the viability of the financial system”.

If you can’t fund your debt, you are considered bankrupt. The experts believe the U.S. Treasury is already printing money in order to meet the government’s financial obligations. Therefore, the U.S. is bankrupt.

Expansion of socialism needs to stopped before it goes any further. Social welfare spending must be curtailed, not expanded, or total collapse of our economic system will result, in the words of the experts.

Please read this very revealing WND article to get a better understanding of that which the U.S. Treasury and the President are complicit in keeping from all of us hard-working taxpayers…

Stimulus Bill Targets Religious Students and Institutions

Posted by Greg Garrett on February 07, 2009
America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Constitution, Economy / No Comments

The stimulus bill (now coined the “spendulus bill”), which is planned to be voted upon in the Senate within the next few days, contains deliberate and unconstitutional verbiage “prohibiting uses of funds” for any building which is used primarily for religious activities. Tom DeMint and other House Republicans vehemently fought to have this ludicrous content removed prior to Democrat-only passage of the bill in the House, unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. Apparently, these liberal hardliners are intent and blatant about continuing their assault and marginalization of religion in America. See the entire WND article here…

This bill CANNOT be allowed to pass. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will pay the price for decades what is done here in the next few days, if we don’t act now. This is an attempt to perpetrate upon the American people the largest socialist government enterprise and transfer of wealth from producers to non-producers in the history of the world. Reagan Inherited Worse Economy Than Obama

Posted by Greg Garrett on February 01, 2009
Barack Obama, Economy / No Comments

Barack Obama is spouting the published 3.8% loss that the U.S. economy experienced in the fourth quarter of 2008 and is saying that this loss represents ”the worst contraction in close to three decades”. The only problem with that statement is that it is a lie. The truth is that in the first quarter of 1982, near the end of the Carter “darkness”, the economy took a 6.8% nosedive. We all know the economy was revived by Ronald Reagan after he took office by virtue of his tax cutting supply side economic principles. As irony would have it or maybe it’s because he’s just not a very good student of history (or doesn’t care to be because it flies in the face of his liberal ideology), President Obama is portraying our economy as worse than it actually is so he can boost his prospects for his massive spending “anti-stimulus” bill which, not surprisingly, has NO middle class tax cuts as he had promised during his campaign. It does, however, have alot of perks for the special interests that got him elected ($5 billion to ACORN, etc.), plenty of social programs to get money in the hands of the non-productive at the expense of the producers and job creators (ie. the beginnings of his redistribution of wealth model), and lots of pork spending to maintain the U.S. citizens as slaves for decades to the new bureaucracy which would be created.

This MUST STOP before it starts… and it is up to US. The bill has now passed the House with NO REPUBLICANS backing it. Contact your U.S. Senators and let them know that their future as a Senator following the next election hangs in the balance of them voting “NO” to this spending bill, which is being irresponsibly portrayed as a stimulus by Obama and his liberal accomplices in Congress and the media.

Obama’s an Enigma for a Conservative Thinker

Posted by Greg Garrett on November 05, 2008
America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy, John McCain / 3 Comments

Here I sit, dazed and confused following a flabergasting evening of watching Fox News, as the election returns rolled in. Senator John McCain has now conceded and Senator Barack Obama has now accepted - I know it’s true, I’m still awake (because I can’t sleep), but the scene is surreal… I’m living an event that I knew could very likely happen, but the reality of which I never accepted until now.

The question that I continue to ask myself is “Why?”. Here are just a few things that I see Obama brings to the table:

- Practically NO management experience other than that as a “community organizer” and that which he has gained during this Presidential campaign.

- Absolutely NO foreign policy experience. He contends that he will sit down and negotiate face-to-face with dictatorial despots and terrorists, something the U.S. has made it part of its international doctrine NOT to do.

- Plans to raise income taxes on the top producing segment (undefined exactly at which income level that starts). Through this, he will redistribute wealth by taking from the overachieving producers and give it to the underachieving to no-achieving consumers.

- Plans to find creative ways to tax people’s retirement investments, like 401k’s, will increase the capital gains tax from 15% to over 40% to include owner occupied home sales, and will reinstate the death tax.

- Plans to bury businesses in new payroll taxes and “cap and trade” requirements. This will force them to reduce their workforce and make capital improvements to meet “cap and trade” standards so they don’t go bankrupt which will force them to raise prices on consumers.

- Maintains an extreme pro-choice position and will not even support medical care for infants surviving botched abortions.

- Favors open borders and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

This doesn’t even get into his not fleeting, but long-term associations with unrepentant terrorists & American hating preachers, as well as his business dealings with felons. Where are his redeeming qualities? How can Obama, a person of very little apparent experience in any character shaping and backbone establishing capacity and who is the #1 most liberal and #4 most partisan voter in the Senate, be elected by the American electorate to the most powerful position in the world? Is America really that desperate to send a message to George W. Bush (the man who has been responsible for preventing another 9/11-type attack on American soil for over seven years) and the Republicans of their disfavor in their actions over the past four years or has a majority segment of the population decided that extreme liberalism is the direction in which this country needs to go?

I’m sorry. Electing this man is just wrong. It’s the epitomy of incompetence by the majority of the American electorate, who are too lazy to do the research or just don’t care to understand what this man’s really about because the liberal media didn’t do their job in vetting him. Character and values are everything when it comes to this position. This is the election for the President of the United States for Christ’s sake. Obama may have been prepared for the responsibility of this position in 20 years, but he’s definitely not ready now. If he gets his way, his economic policies alone, will take our country from the dismal state it’s in now to the deepest recesses of a depression from which we’ll have to look up to see what was experienced during the Carter years and don’t get me started on the national security vulnerabilities that he’ll create with his touted policies in this area.

We are going to need true traditional conservatives who are willing to ruffle feathers and rise above the fray to clean up the disaster that will inevitably be the hallmark of this administration and this path needs to start with a grassroots conservative effort reminiscent of the Carter to Reagan transitional renaissance. These individuals will have to be found and this mission infused by ordinary Americans like you and me who refuse to let their country become a Socialist sewer like so many Euro nations have become. This is a sounding cry for us to get back to our roots established by the Founding Fathers and away from the liberal sloth that has now totally enveloped our great nation. Please join me in this bold venture to take back our country within the next election cycle and, in the interim, do all we can to keep our extreme liberal majority Congress, in check.  More to come.

Obama Demonstrates His Inept Economic Policy

America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy / 1 Comment

Here’s a video of a San Francisco Chronicle editorial board luncheon at the St. Francis Hotel on January 17, 2008. The following is breakdown of video segments (which will prevent you from having to watch the full mind-numbing 52 minutes to get the same info) that demonstrate the fallacy and misguided direction of his economic policies:

5:50: Raise payroll taxes to shore up social security. Result: no one will need social security because no employer will be able to afford to hire them.

23:30: Wealth redistribution. Result: steal from the productive rich and give to the non-productive, even sedentary poor, eliminating positive incentive for either group to succeed.

25:00: Cap & trade. Result: more emphasis on elimination of greenhouse gases contributing to the fictious global warming debacle than solving our dependence on foreign oil.

27:00: Build a coal powered plant at your own peril because my cap & trade policy will bankrupt you. Result: Capitalists and entrepreneurs be damned.

28:00: Opposition to pursuing nuclear power. Result: Well, there goes coal AND nuclear as options toward establishing our energy independence - what a party pooper.

37:30: Again, touting how greenhouse emissions significantly impact climate change. Result: demonstrating his simplistic nievete and/or denial of scientific fact.

40:25: Cap and trade, again. “Under my plan, electricity rates will skyrocket” (yes, he really said this). Result: Industries will be forced to make extreme capital investments to economically satisfy his cap and trade requirements, the expense of which they will pass to the consumer.

I don’t know about you, but all of this sound like pretty sound economics to me… particularly, if you ultimately seek to be President of the Earth.

Obama Touts Redistribution of Wealth in 2001

Posted by ggarrett on October 31, 2008
America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy / 1 Comment

Senator Barack Obama has been developing his wealth redistribution philosophy for many years. The premise is to overtax the wealthy overachieving upper class, contending that this is money they can afford to part with, and pass it on in many forms to the lower and lower middle class. If this isn’t bad enough, lately the annual income threshold at which his extreme taxation plan begins has been getting lower and lower - $250K to $200K and even as low as $150K according to Sen Joe Biden the other day - and they aren’t even in office yet.

When you succinctly think about it, the concept really makes little sense. It takes from the ones who are providing the jobs and gives to the ones who are low income to no income earners. Why would you provide a disincentive to the job creators and provide incentive to the underachieving ethic of the low income earners to stay where they are because they can receive more for doing less, if they do? It’s, obviously, not to help these individuals. It is, however, to control their behavior and repress them into believing that the government is their be all and end all - a malignant legacy they can pass to their children. This is liberalism at it’s finest, albeit morphing into a socialist to marxist economic policy.

Proceeding with such an ecomomic farce in a recessionary period, in particular, is akin to throwing gasoline onto a fire. During a time when history has shown you reduce the taxes on the wealthy so they have available capital to invest in the economy, as well as produce jobs & enable higher wages for productive employees, Obama professes the opposite. Instead of proven “trickle down growth” economic policies such as those implemented by the Reagan Administration which brought us from the dark days of the high taxation Carter years into the longest period of economic growth in U.S. history, Obama touts a “trickle up poverty” (coined by Michael Savage of Savage Nation fame) approach which will inevitably lead us from recession to a full-blown depression.

Here’s a short audio from a Chicago talk radio program that Obama did back in 2001 where he relates the tenets of his radical wealth redistribution philosophy…
