John McCain

Obama’s an Enigma for a Conservative Thinker

America's Gotta Know, Barack Obama, Economy, John McCain / 3 Comments

Here I sit, dazed and confused following a flabergasting evening of watching Fox News, as the election returns rolled in. Senator John McCain has now conceded and Senator Barack Obama has now accepted - I know it’s true, I’m still awake (because I can’t sleep), but the scene is surreal… I’m living an event that I knew could very likely happen, but the reality of which I never accepted until now.

The question that I continue to ask myself is “Why?”. Here are just a few things that I see Obama brings to the table:

- Practically NO management experience other than that as a “community organizer” and that which he has gained during this Presidential campaign.

- Absolutely NO foreign policy experience. He contends that he will sit down and negotiate face-to-face with dictatorial despots and terrorists, something the U.S. has made it part of its international doctrine NOT to do.

- Plans to raise income taxes on the top producing segment (undefined exactly at which income level that starts). Through this, he will redistribute wealth by taking from the overachieving producers and give it to the underachieving to no-achieving consumers.

- Plans to find creative ways to tax people’s retirement investments, like 401k’s, will increase the capital gains tax from 15% to over 40% to include owner occupied home sales, and will reinstate the death tax.

- Plans to bury businesses in new payroll taxes and “cap and trade” requirements. This will force them to reduce their workforce and make capital improvements to meet “cap and trade” standards so they don’t go bankrupt which will force them to raise prices on consumers.

- Maintains an extreme pro-choice position and will not even support medical care for infants surviving botched abortions.

- Favors open borders and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

This doesn’t even get into his not fleeting, but long-term associations with unrepentant terrorists & American hating preachers, as well as his business dealings with felons. Where are his redeeming qualities? How can Obama, a person of very little apparent experience in any character shaping and backbone establishing capacity and who is the #1 most liberal and #4 most partisan voter in the Senate, be elected by the American electorate to the most powerful position in the world? Is America really that desperate to send a message to George W. Bush (the man who has been responsible for preventing another 9/11-type attack on American soil for over seven years) and the Republicans of their disfavor in their actions over the past four years or has a majority segment of the population decided that extreme liberalism is the direction in which this country needs to go?

I’m sorry. Electing this man is just wrong. It’s the epitomy of incompetence by the majority of the American electorate, who are too lazy to do the research or just don’t care to understand what this man’s really about because the liberal media didn’t do their job in vetting him. Character and values are everything when it comes to this position. This is the election for the President of the United States for Christ’s sake. Obama may have been prepared for the responsibility of this position in 20 years, but he’s definitely not ready now. If he gets his way, his economic policies alone, will take our country from the dismal state it’s in now to the deepest recesses of a depression from which we’ll have to look up to see what was experienced during the Carter years and don’t get me started on the national security vulnerabilities that he’ll create with his touted policies in this area.

We are going to need true traditional conservatives who are willing to ruffle feathers and rise above the fray to clean up the disaster that will inevitably be the hallmark of this administration and this path needs to start with a grassroots conservative effort reminiscent of the Carter to Reagan transitional renaissance. These individuals will have to be found and this mission infused by ordinary Americans like you and me who refuse to let their country become a Socialist sewer like so many Euro nations have become. This is a sounding cry for us to get back to our roots established by the Founding Fathers and away from the liberal sloth that has now totally enveloped our great nation. Please join me in this bold venture to take back our country within the next election cycle and, in the interim, do all we can to keep our extreme liberal majority Congress, in check.  More to come.
